Victor Osimhen‘s agent has stated that there were numerous offers for the Super Eagles forward. Osimhen will finish the current season with Serie A giants Napoli, after signing a contract extension a few days ago.

Although the former Wolfsburg player's contract should keep him at the club until the summer of 2026, there's a release clause in that contract, which means the 24 year old might leave sooner. While Osimhen's agent Roberto Calenda did not disclose the details of the contract, he mentioned that his client received many offers from some of the top teams in the world.

A contract renewal has been on the cards since the start of the summer

“Victor is happy in Naples and wants to go as high as possible,” Osimhen's agent told Corriere dello Sport. “He always said it and proved it on the pitch. We have just completed a very important renewal in the history of Italian football. Let's take advantage of it. And this shows that some stories were wrong.”

Calenda continued: “I heard that I would have preferred not to renew in order to transfer him straight away. That was not true. I represent Victor and I aim for the best for him, with him: we have both been aiming for renewal since the “summer,”

Many offers came in last summer for Victor Osimhen

Clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus and both Milan teams were said to be interested in signing Osimhen in the winter transfer window. With that in mind, Calenda pointed out that his client wanted to stay with the Partenopei.

“Look, last summer a lot of offers came in, even monstrous ones, but De Laurentiis wanted to keep Victor and we put ourselves at his disposal. If there had been a desire to leave, we would have said so. Instead, we worked, and a lot, only on renewal. And next summer it will be the same: we will talk with De Laurentiis and see what we can do together.”

It's also important to note that Victor Osimhen is expected to join the Super Eagles for the Africa Cup of Nations next month, so Napoli will have to do without him for a while.
