The 2023 UEFA Champions League begins on Tuesday 19 September and will run through to Saturday 1 June 2024. Counting the qualifying rounds which some Super Eagles players participated in, the competition has been running since Tuesday 27 June 2023.

The first UCL live viewing of the 2023/24 edition of Europe’s most prestigious competition will take place on 19 and 20 September 2023.
Sadiq Umar’s Real Sociedad, Victor Osimhen’s Napoli, Samuel Chukwueze’s AC Milan, Chidera Ejuke and Alhassan Yusuf’s Royal Antwerp, Victor Boniface’s Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Zaidu Sanusi’s FC Porto and Peter Olayinka’s Red Star Belgrade are competing in the tournament.
Nigerian-Spanish striker Samuel Omorodion of Atlético de Madrid and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro of Inter Milan will hope to convince the head coaches of their teams to select them from the youth sides as the competition unfolds.

Nigerians are excited because it has been a while since this many Super Eagles players and prospects participated in Europe’s elite competition. They are more excited to see Victor Osimhen surpass Obafemi Martins as Nigeria’s top scorer in the competition and possibly challenge for the Golden Boot.
