Why Man Utd Ruled Out Christian Eriksen January Transfer

Manchester United have reportedly cancelled their January swoop for wantaway Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.

The Red Devils have opted to hold out until the summer when they will be able to sign the 27-year-old for free.

According to Sky Sports, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are not willing to splash the cash for the Danish playmaker this month.

Eriksen will be a free agent when his contract with Spurs expires at the end of the season.

United have been continuously linked with Eriksen after holding talks with him last summer and were said to be lining up a £20million move for the Tottenham star.

But Solskjaer has cooled his interest in the 94-cap Denmark international in the hope of bagging himself a bargain next summer.

The source suggests that Eriksen sees his future away from the EPL.

Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Juventus are among the biggest clubs in Europe that are monitoring his situation.

The Italian giants would rather pay £20million for Eriksen now than risk losing him to a rival in the summer.
