How to Withdraw Money From SportyBet Nigeria: Steps and Limits

It is Saturday evening in Surulere, the last leg of a punter's accumulator has just landed, and the SportyBet balance finally shows the winnings. Getting that money into a bank account takes a few taps. It goes smoothly when the account name, the Sporty PIN and the bank details all line up, and this guide follows SportyBet Nigeria's own help pages as they read today.

How to withdraw from SportyBet to your bank account

On a laptop, open the My Account dropdown and click Withdraw. On a phone, tap your balance at the top right or the Me tab at the bottom right. The app and the mobile site use the same button.

Choose your bank. Type the account number. Enter the amount and click Withdraw.

Next comes the Sporty PIN. The first time you use a bank account number, SportyBet also asks you to confirm your identity with a code sent by SMS, voice call or reverse SMS to the phone number registered on your betting account, after which you check the summary screen and confirm.

The list of accepted banks is long. GTBank, Access, UBA, Zenith and First Bank are there. So are OPay, PalmPay, Kuda, Moniepoint and a string of microfinance banks. Want to add another account later? Website users click “Withdraw to a new bank account”. In the app or on the mobile site, go to Manage Accounts, then Add a New Account. Every new account triggers a fresh SMS check.

Limits, fees and how long it takes

Most payouts arrive instantly. The rest of the picture has changed.

SportyBet's Nigerian help page now sets the minimum at NGN 1.00 per transaction and the maximum at NGN 9,999,999.00 per transaction, a long way from the NGN 1,000 floor quoted on older guides, including the earlier version of this one. Withdrawals cost nothing. The company says it pays the fees. A transfer can still fail, though, because of your bank account's own balance or daily transfer limit. If a withdrawal shows “Pending” for more than 48 hours, SportyBet asks customers to contact its Customer Service team. The same applies when a pending request comes with a note that it will be processed manually and verified within three working days. Rules can change, so the Withdraw page inside your own account remains the final word.

Verification, account name and the Sporty PIN

The checks start before the first naira of winnings. SportyBet's terms say the name you confirm on your first deposit becomes your account name. Bank withdrawals can only go to that name. A cousin's account will not do. The help page also warns that accounts used only to move money in and out, with no betting record, may be frozen for review, as may accounts that try to send funds to many different people or make too many withdrawal requests in a day. A deposited balance that has never been staked is not withdrawable.

Your PIN is the last line of defence.

“Never reveal your PIN to anyone even if they claim to represent SportyBet,” the help page states. Always check that the address is www.sportybet.com before typing it in. Too many wrong attempts lock payments for one hour. The company says it never asks for your OTP. It also recommends switching on email two-factor authentication under Settings, then Safety and Security.

USSD, SMS and Transfer to Friend

Many punters search for a SportyBet USSD code for withdrawal. There is none.

The Nigerian help pages do not list one, and the SMS tutorials section for Nigeria is empty. The USSD strings SportyBet does publish, *737*50*Amount*558# for GTBank and *966*6*7767# for Zenith Bank, are for deposits only, and our guide on how to deposit on SportyBet covers that side of the account in detail. Treat any “withdrawal code” shared on WhatsApp or Facebook with suspicion.

Transfer to Friend still sits under Withdraw. It is open only to accounts already verified with BVN, because SportyBet says BVN verification is no longer available. Eligible users need a withdrawal PIN, a verified email and a 6-digit code sent to their phone, then a 24-hour cooldown. Transfers run from NGN 100 to NGN 5,000 per transaction. The daily ceiling is NGN 5,000, with up to five friends per account.
