Kenya Premier League results 2023/24: Champions Gor Mahia bounce back in round 2
The second round of Kenya Premier League matches in matchweek 2 were quite favourable for some of the big guns.
Gor Mahia bounced back to win away from home in a 0-1 victory over Ulinzi.
Ulinzi vs Gor Mahia was expected to be a difficult game but Kogalo were relentless in their quest for maximum points after Rogers Mugisha scored the opener in the 30th minute.
Gor Mahia held onto the narrow lead till the final whistle.
Promoted Shabana hold Talanta to a stalemate
Talanta and Shabana FC clashed in a gruelling battle on 1st September 2023. Many expected the game would end in favour of Shabana FC.
The game ended 1-1 after dragging on for 90 minutes. Kevin Tom Machika scored the opener for FC Talanta but the lead did not last long as Justine Omwandho scored an equalizer for Shabana FC in added time.
It means Shabana have only a point after two rounds. The promoted Crashes face Kenya Police in their next game, a clash Makarao are expected to win.

Bandari docks at Sofapaka with a 0-1 advantage
Bandari FC, popularly known as the Dockers from the coast, had a massive game away at the capital, Nairobi.
The long haul trip to the capital from Mombasa did not end in fatigue for the Dockers as they had their way from the 3rd minute when Umar Kasumba scored the opener for the visitors.
Bandari FC held onto their narrow lead till the final whistle, winning both halves in a hard-fought victory.
Lions wound Ingwe with a 1-0 late winner
KCB vs AFC Leopards was another exciting game. The Lions (KCB) came out on top after much struggle for at least 80 minutes.
KCB's Derick Otanga was the star of the day for the Lions when he broke the deadlock in the 81st minute for the Lions, sending Ingwe scampering for safety.
AFC Leopards could not do much with the remaining 9 minutes.
Things got worse for the visitors in the 90+1 minute when Musa Oundo picked a red card, forcing Ingwe to defend themselves from the attacking Lions who could have inflicted more damage.

Kenya Police humiliated by Posta Rangers at doorstep
As the 2023/24 KPL season prediction gathers momentum, Kenya Police became the latest team to suffer a humiliating defeat in front of their fans.
Makarao were thrashed 3-nil at home, a game they would want to forget as quickly as possible.
Kenya Police FC, who are known to hype themselves up on social media, could not find anywhere to hide as the Mailmen reigned supreme.
Posta Rangers opened the scoring in the 6th minute through Curtis Wekesa to win the first half.
Jackson Dwang doubled the lead in the 74th minute before Brian Otieno tripled the advantage shortly before the final whistle in the 90th minute in the matchweek 2 clash.

Muranga Seal keep soaring after promotion
Promoted outfit, Murange Seal, were voted the team of the week in matchweek 1 after a winning start to the campaign against Shabana FC away from home.
Muranga Seal made another strong statement in matchweek 2, bagging another narrow 1-0 victory over Kakamega Homeboyz.

Homeboyz were the favourites here but things ended unexpectedly for the visitors.

Brewers settle for the spoils in a disappointing clash with Sharks
In another round of the Kenya Premier League results, Tusker FC (Brewers) had a late comeback from 0-1 down to equalize against Kariobangi Sharks.
Tusker FC vs Kariobangi Sharks ended 1-1.
Sharks opened the lead in the 56th minute but Tusker FC fought harder to prevent another goal concession before equalizing in the 82nd minute.
Tusker won their season opener but they will now face Kariobangi Sharks in round 3 of the 2023/24 season. Homeboyz will play their first home game of the season in matchweek 2.
Bidco United earn a point against City Stars
Another Kenya Premier League result is on the clash that pitted Bidco United against Nairobi City Stars.
The visitors, Simba was Nairobi, opened the lead in the 56th minute to end the stalemate through Andrew Ngati Kisili.
However, the lead by the visitors did not last long as Samuel Ndungu equalized for City Stars 12 minutes later.
Bidco United have now bagged back-to-back draws. It is the same case for Nairobi City Stars, with both teams scoring only a goal in two rounds.
Bidco Stars travel to Nzoia for the third round while City Stars will face reigning champions, Gor Mahia in the third round.
