Liverpool have opened talked with the representatives of Victor Osimhen of Lille, according to Le Foot Mercato.
According to the report, they are however likely to find themselves in a battle against other top English clubs for the former Royal Charleroi hitman’s signature.
Leicester City have expressed an interest, and reports have suggested that Chelsea and Manchester United are also keen on the Nigerian.
Lille want around £60 million for the 21-year-old who has scored 18 times in his debut season in Ligue 1.
LOSC Lille striker Osimhen told The Independent that he’d like to play for a big club in England one day.
“I’ve spoken to Odion Ighalo about it. He gave me very good advice, he’s a legend and a big brother. My goal is to play at one of the biggest clubs in the world but now I’m very happy in Lille. My priority is to play a lot of games. Signing for a big club and being on the bench is not exciting for me.”
If Osimhen does sign for Liverpool, then he shouldn’t take long to fit into their high pressing system.
