Manchester United will need to pay up to £15million to sign former Super Eagles star Odion Ighalo permanently, according to reports.
Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that he would like to keep the Nigeria international beyond this season.
But the Mirror is reporting that Shanghai Shenhua will demand £15m to sell the 30-year-old.
The Chinese Super League outfit only paid £5.27m for Ighalo when he left second-tier side CC Yatai in February 2019.
His stock has since risen, however, and his parent club will not allow him to leave on the cheap it seems.
Ighalo, who Watford sold to CC Yatai for £21m in 2017, currently has a market value of £5.85m.
There is an option for the Red Devils to buy Ighalo, but GoalBall understand that no fee was set in stone when the loan was negotiated.
Solskjaer has praised the impact of Ighalo and previously insisted that he reckons his loan star could get even better next season.
“Odion has done really well since he came in and he is enjoying himself,” said the Norwegian.
