Though their opening offer was rejected but now Manchester United have reportedly made a second bid for Alex Telles.
The player is said to have an agreement with the Red Devils and is holding out for a move to Old Trafford as talks between the two clubs continue.
Telles has just nine months remaining on his Porto contract and he’s deemed as the perfect candidate to rival Luke Shaw for the left-back position at United and he is said to be itching to get his move to England.
The full-back has agreed a provisional five-year contract and has requested that Porto reduce their asking price of £18million.
United do not intend to pay that much given that Telles will be available on a free transfer next summer but they also recognised they need to improve their squad now.
According to RMC Sport, United have now launched a second bid for the left-back as they look to get the deal over the line.
