Scottish giants, Glasgow Rangers have seen their bid for Super Eagles striker, Cyriel Dessers get rejected by Cremonese.
The Italian side who were relegated from Serie A last season shortly after gaining promotion to the Italian top flight do not see the opening bid made by Rangers as one which will be convincing enough for them to sell.
According to the Daily Record, the Light Blues made a good bid of seven figures to Cremonese for the player but the Italian side deemed it insufficient. Cremonese are looking to recoup the €6.5 million they paid for him in the summer.

Two bids have been rejected so far, and owner Giovanni Arvedi wants to keep Dessers, who is under contract for another four seasons.

The talks to sign the Super Eagles international are not over yet as Rangers are still trying to get a deal done.
Desser's journey so far
Dessers signed for Cremonese over the last summer transfer window for a fee of €6.5 million from Belgian side, KRC Genk. He had already started the Belgian Pro League season with Genk, scoring three goals in three games before making the switch to the Italian club.
In what was an injury hit season, Dessers was not able to continue his hit rate of one goal a game and was only able to start 19 league games (26 appearances in total) for Cremonese. In that time, he managed to score six goals and get an assist for his efforts. His goal contributions were not enough as his side got relegated from Serie A.
Ranges manager, Micheal Beale has admired the Nigerian striker for a long time. Beale sees him as the man who would serve as a decent replacement for Alfredo Morelos, who leaves the club on a free transfer this summer.
Dessers may have had a poor season by his standards this year, but his track record shows that he is a striker with great quality.
Last season, he was on loan at Dutch giants, Feyenoord where he showed how good a player he is. In the Netherlands, he played 40 games in all competitions and notched up 19 goals and four assists in the Eredivisie and the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference league.
It was his goals in the European tournament that fired Feyenoord to the final of the competition but they fell short at the last stage to AS Roma. He was named top scorer of that competition. Prior to that season, Dessers was an Eredivisie golden boot winner for Heracles Almelo in the 19/20 season which was not allowed to conclude.
Dessers wanted by Rangers
With those numbers, it is not surprise that Beale sees talent in him. With several departures on the Rangers roster, there is a feeling that most of the club’s spending will be on replacing attackers as they are also interested in signing Los Angeles FC midfielder Jose Cifuentes.
For the Nigerian National football team, Dessers is not the first choice striker, as Victor Osimhen has made the number nine shirt his own, but he is a regular feature in the national team squad. He has only scored one international goal for his country in eight caps.
