Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr is expected to later this week announce his call-ups for next month’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde.
The qualifiers have been scheduled to hold September 3rd for the game against Liberia in Lagos and September 7th for the one in Cape Verde.
And both Watford forward Emmanuel Dennis and Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka were outstanding on their Premier League debut at the weekend and are set to be among the Super Eagles call-ups for next month’s qualifiers, according to SCORENigeria.
Dennis will most likely profit from the absence of wingers Samuel Kalu and Samuel Chukwueze, who are both doubtful.
Kalu gave a health scare at the weekend with his French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux, while Chukwueze is nursing a hamstring injury which kept him out of the UEFA Super Cup.
New Esperance signing Anayo Iwuala is not expected to be called up as he has not been active since the NPFL season ended earlier this month.
