Samuel Kalu has somehow found himself slip into the relegation zone in the current Super Eagles squad as manager Genort Rohr has found a new love in other wingers like Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon.
Rohr’s choice could be informed by Kalu’s current form as a winger for his Ligue 1 club Bordeaux.
Kalu never featured for any of the Nigerian team at youth levels but went ahead to make his Super Eagles debut under the German coach Rohr in 2018.
Some of the 2018 World Cup stars were dropped for the qualifier against Seychelles and Kalu became one of the newcomers into the team and scored his first international goal against Libya.
During a Super Eagles training session during the AFCON 2019 held in Egypt, Kalu collapsed as a result of severe dehydration.
Rumours everywhere in the media then claimed that what happened to Samuel Kalu was that he suffered a heart attack. WRONG!
However, he got discharged from the hospital and linked up with the rest of the squad in Alexandria.
Nigeria came third in the tournament, losing to the ultimate winner, Algeria in the semifinal.
