Victor Osimhen and Napoli have been preparing themselves for the new Serie A season which is just under three weeks away with pre season friendlies and intense training camps as their title defence gets closer.
Their last fixture was a friendly match between themselves and Turkish side, Akatas Hatayspor at the Stadio Teofilo Patini. Osimhen was, as usual, the star of the show after scoring two goals in a comfortable 4-0 home win for Gil Azzurri. Giovanni Simeone got the other two goals that were scored in the game.
The match started with the Italian champions putting all the pressure on their opponents and Osimhen was at the thick of it.
First, his volley from the edge of the box was saved by the Hatayspor goalkeeper. Another chance came to the Nigerian after he was played through on goal into a one on one situation but he was unable to place his finish past the keeper who was quick off his line to make the save.
Osimhen was getting closer and closer to scoring until he finally got his goal. Shortly after the Napoli man missed another one on one chance, he didn't let the very next one pass him by.
He was played through on goal by Matteo Politano after he capitalized on a goalkeeper's bad pass and he managed to round the keeper and lash home into an empty net. His powerful shot into the goal was probably his way of expressing his frustration with himself for missing previous chances.
Now that he finally got his first goal, the second goal of the match for Osimen came four minutes after and he made no mistake in yet another one on one situation with the Hatayspor keeper. He lobbed the ball over the keeper who was off his line for his and Napoli's second of the afternoon. A classy finish.
Giovanni Simeone came on in the second half for Osimen and grabbed a brace of his own with the second goal a chipped finish, similar to Osimhen's second goal.

Napoli hope Osimhen will start the season with them
After a 31-goal 2022/2023 season, his performance in the last game shows that he is showing no signs of slowing down and that is a scary thought for defenders across Europe and across Africa on the international stage.
He has attracted a lot of interest from some if the biggest clubs in Europe like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea but Napoli themselves want to keep him and plan on extending his contract.
Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of SSC Napoli, has said that the player will stay with the club unless a massive offer comes for him.
Osimhen loves the club and the fans and appreciates the love the club have shown him since his arrival so staying beyond this season may be possible.
The Italian club are about to begin a new era under a new manager and they will hope their star striker will the there to lead them to glory again.
