Fabinho Extends Liverpool Contract By Five Years

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has agreed a new and improved long-term contract that will keep him at Anfield until 2026, that’s according to Liverpoolecho.co.k

The Brazil international has by this extension reaffirmed his commitment to the club which is coming less than a week after Trent Alexander-Arnold signed a new deal that ties him at Liverpool until 2025.

Since arriving from Monaco for an initial £39.9million in the summer of 2018, the 27-year-old is regarded as one of the finest defensive midfielders in world football.

He was integral in helping Jurgen Klopp’s side win the Champions League, Premier League, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup in recent years.

The Brazilian also operated as a makeshift centre-back last season as the Reds grappled with a major defensive injury crisis.

Liverpool hope to see Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane, all agree new deals soonest.

Although preliminary talks with skipper Jordan Henderson have thus far stalled.
