Gabriel Magalhaes Makes Late Demand As Man Utd Move In On Arsenal Target

Gabriel Magalhaes has made a late demand as Manchester United enter the race for the 22-year-old star.

Arsenal had been hot on the defender after Mikel Arteta confirmed his backline as an area in need of improvement.

The Lille star had been touted as a perfect solution after a stellar year in Ligue 1.

A £22m offer had been accepted but the Brazilian is at the centre of a transfer tug of war – with Napoli also interested in a move.

The Italian club are keen on signing him in case Kalidou Koulibaly makes the move to Manchester City this summer.

They have already signed his Lille pal Victor Osimhen and the two clubs have a good relationship.

But the youngster was only interested in a move to Arsenal – or that was the case until very recently.

Gianluca di Marzio claim that United's 11th-hour bid has got the centre-back contemplating his options.

It has led Magalhaes to ask for more time as he makes a decision on his future – 48 hours to be precise.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to partner Harry Maguire at the back with a left-footed player and currently possesses no such star.

Chelsea have also been scouting him over the season, while several European teams have taken a closer look.
