You didn’t expect to see any other club at number one, did you?! Like I said from the start, this club is the richest football club in Nigeria.
Owned by Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, who happens to be a Nigerian businessman, politician and entrepreneur and CEO of Capital Oil, what do you expect?!
The Anambra Warriors was formerly called Iyayi Football Club of Benin City before Chief Gabriel Chukwuma acquired it and renamed it Gabros International Football Club.
Ubah took over and subsequently rechristened it Ifeanyi Ubah F.C – named it after himself of course.
Ifeanyi Ubah F.C is headquartered at 21 Nnobi Road, Nnewi, Anambra State.

Kano Pillars F.C
Kano Pillars sits in second place. The Kano-based Nigerian football club was founded in 1990, which makes it one of the oldest football clubs in Nigeria.
They feature in the Nigerian Professional Football League(NPFL).
Not surprising, the club is owned by the Kano state government, because if not, it won’t still be called Kano Pillars F.C.
Kano state government make money from Kano Pillars F.C from the many sponsorship requests they get from top brands.
Kano Pillars F.C is home to some of the highest-paid footballers in the Nigerian professional football league.
Did I mention, Ahmed Musa also played for Masu Gida during the early years of his career?

Akwa Ibomites reading this post will definitely be excited to see their club mentioned as one of the richest football clubs in Nigeria.
Why not?! I mean, they are an oil-producing State.
The Promise Keepers play in the first division of Nigerian football, Nigeria Professional Football League with Akwa Ibom Stadium as their home stadium.
