If reports are anything to go by, Sky Bet Championship club Stoke City are set to sign former Super Eagles skipper John Mikel Obi.
The 33-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor in March.
Stoke City Sentinel claim club manager Michael O’Neil is keen on bringing in a holding midfielder and the ex-Nigerian International could be a leading contender.
West Bromich Albion, who will play in the Premier League next season following their promotion from the Championship- have also been credited with an interest in the midfielder.
The former Super Eagles captain was recently linked with a move to Brazilian clubs Botafogo and Internacional.
A vastly experienced player with more than 350 appearances for Chelsea, he won multiple titles during his time with the Blues.
The Nigerian had a spell in China, before returning to sign for Middlesbrough in a short-term deal in 2019.
