Lionel Messi’s father has reportedly arrived in England to hold discussions with Manchester City.
On Tuesday evening, it was revealed that Messi had informed the Catalan giants of his desire to end his long-term association with the club.
Although the Nou Camp outfit do not want to sell the Argentine International this summer, their hand could be forced due to Messi having less than a year remaining on his contract.
The 33-year-old's decision has naturally led to speculation regarding a move to another top European club, including City, who are managed by Messi's former boss Pep Guardiola.
According to RAC1 and TyC Sports, Messi's dad Jorge Messi has travelled to the city in order to speak with officials at the Premier League side.
The report claims that City are prepared to hand the Argentine a two-year contract, giving Messi more leeway with regards to the latter years of his career.
