The Africa Cup of Nation tournament in Africa took place from 19 January to February 10, and was held in the 2010 World Cup host nation, South Africa, but who and who were in the Super Eagles AFCON 2013 Squad?

History was made on February 10 at Soccer City in Johannesburg, as the 29th Africa Cup of Nations came to a climax and Nigeria were crowned winner.

So when next you are asked which country won the 2013 AFCON, you know the country to name, right. And regrettably too, that was when Nigeria last won AFCON.

And to find out how many times Nigeria has won African Nations Cup, read up my article on it where I listed all past AFCON winners since 1957 Till Date… You'll also find the country that won AFCON the most there.

Super Eagles AFCON 2013 Squad Lineups

Lates Stephen Keshi took over the reins as coach of the Nigeria AFCON 2013 squad in November 2011 after the team failed to qualify for the 2012 AFCON, the first time in 26 years.

He took over the job at a time when the national team was low in confidence and started by getting players from the local league to play a greater part in the Nigeria squad of 2013.

They combined well to form a new Super Eagles that the country was proud of again.

Leading his third team to the AFCON – following stints with Togo and Mali – Keshi finally won his first AFCON title.

His experience garnered as a player where he led Nigeria to victory in 1994 was obviously applied to inspire this Nigeria squad AFCON 2013 to great things in South Africa.
